To meet the competitive challenge in attracting, retaining, and managing a talented workforce, the University has begun the transition from yesterday’s paper based hiring and personnel transactions systems to highly automated web based systems.  During the coming weeks the Human Resources Office will be introducing two innovative and exciting systems that will not only expedite our processes but will also provide a valuable tool to employees and supervisors for managing their careers, performance, and learning.

The first of these to be introduced is Recruit by Cornerstone OnDemand.  Recruit will allow hiring supervisors to post positions, receive and screen resumes, vitae, and applications, schedule interviews, and make job offers.  It will also allow applicants to apply for positions, manage and check the status of their applications, accept interview invitations, and review and sign offer letters.  

Following soon afterward will be Electronic Personnel Action Forms (EPAF) by Ellucian Banner.  EPAF’s will replace the existing Personnel Action Form (PAF) used for hiring and job change transactions.  EPAF’s will simplify the PAF process by only asking for the information needed for the transaction being initiated and by providing immediate feedback if something is not entered correctly.  No more waiting for your request to be routed through multiple offices only to find out you filled out something incorrectly.  

One of the greatest benefits to both systems will be the ability to track the status of your requests with the click of a button.  No longer will you have to call around to find a document or figure out which approvals need to be obtained.  

The best news of all is that this is only the beginning.  Over the next several months new features and functionality will be added to both Banner and Cornerstone that will enhance our talent management capabilities.  

Cornerstone OnDemand training for approvers will be held October 3-6, and for hiring supervisors and admins October 9-13.  

We will transition job posting and applicant processing to Cornerstone on October 16, 2017.
Training for EPAF’s will be held early November.
