The office of Human Resources would like to thank all employees and supervisors who attended townhall meetings relating to changes to the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and overtime regulation.

On November 22, 2016, a federal judge barred the Labor Department from implementing its new overtime rule by granting an injunction in regard to new salary threshold of $47,476. For the time-being, the threshold will remain at the current level of $23,660.
Below is a link to the presentation from these Townhalls.

The contents of this presentation are accurate in regard to those employees whose duties have been determined to be nonexempt.

Those employees with exempt duties who were changing to Nonexempt on 12/1/16 based on the new salary threshold will remain exempt, pending further direction from the Department of Labor (DOL).

The Human Resources Office will advise the University Community when and if a change is implemented.
